upStage (Trojan)

A trojanized 7-Zip installer from a fake domain includes a concealed malware payload alongside the legitimate software. The malware updates independently through an additional channel.

Marco Stealer (Data Theft)

Zscaler ThreatLabz found Marco Stealer, an information stealer targeting browser data, cryptocurrency wallets, and files from cloud services. It uses anti-analysis techniques and encrypted C2 communications via HTTP.

DesckVB (RAT)

DesckVB RAT is a stable and mature .NET RAT with multi-stage delivery and a plugin ecosystem, allowing for selective deployment of capabilities post-compromise.

Iranian-backed group Magic Hound engages in cyber espionage targeting U.S. and Middle Eastern officials and organizations since 2014, likely working with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps through elaborate social engineering tactics.

APT37 is a North Korean cyber espionage group active since 2012, targeting victims in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Nepal, China, India, Romania, Kuwait, and other parts of the Middle East with various campaigns.

ClickFix (Phishing)

In April 2024, researchers found compromised sites leading to an iframe on pley[.]es showing an error message. The payload domain was taken offline, preventing infection. Later, the iframe was replaced with the ClearFake inject.

Fake Browser (Trojan)

Attackers infect enterprise networks with malware by promoting fake browser updates on hacked websites, leading to the installation of banking trojans and later ransomware encryption on compromised networks.

Keitaro (Phishing)

Cyber criminals exploited the TDS platform Keitaro to redirect users to malware exploit kits RIG and Fallout, infecting them with malicious software. Legitimate TDS platforms are used for targeted advertising.

LandUpdate808 (Trojan)

Fake update variants like SocGholish, Clear Fake, Smart Ape, and ClickFix are being tracked by a collaboration introducing the LandUpdate808 Fake Update Variant.

Lumma (Data Theft)

Lumma is a C-based information stealer sold on Russian underground forums and Telegram by LummaC since August 2022. It targets cryptocurrency wallets and has file grabber capabilities.

NetSupport RAT (RAT)

Remote Access Trojans allow covert surveillance and unauthorized access to victim PCs, collecting keystrokes, passwords, screenshots, and more. They differ from keyloggers by providing remote access capabilities to attackers.

Stealc (Data Theft)

Stealc, introduced by actor Plymouth on underground forums, written in C, can steal data from web browsers, crypto wallets, email clients, and messaging apps, built on Vidar, Raccoon, Mars, and RedLine.

TinyNuke (Data Theft)

TinyNuke (Nuclear Bot) is a banking trojan sold on underground marketplaces for $2500 in 2016, functioning like ZeuS to steal passwords. Its author later destroyed reputation by aggressive promotion.
